Iron mask of Hannya. It shows the face of a demoness, "Kijyo". The word "Hannya" comes from the Sanskrit word prajna (or Pali paññā), which means wisdom leading to enlightenment, and is not directly related to the demoness. The masks have a frightening appearance, but somehow they are said to ward off evil and bring good fortune and have been hung in houses as wall decorations.
The mask is made of cast iron and is rather heavy, so please mount it on a stable wall or pillar.
